West Palm Beach-based parking operations company One Parking has married automated parking garage payment with human interaction. The company’s two-way video connection “OPark” saves labor costs by eliminating the need for multiple people at multiple posts. But if drivers have a problem with a credit card or other issue, they press “help” and get a videolink to a live person in West Palm Beach (though the video background makes it appear the person is on site). “OPark” is in garages from Washington to Chicago. One Parking manages more than 80,000 parking spaces at 85 properties nationally.
